Bob Tulloch of Northeast Construction helped close off one of The Brewster Fish House’s two curb cuts off Route 6A and put in barriers to create a safe dining area in the parking lot, Smith says. In addition to protecting against traffic, the fortified al fresco dining area has a one-way entrance and exit so guests don’t have to cross paths.
The Brewster Fish House can get pretty busy in the evenings when it’s time for dinner. However, the restaurant doesn’t take reservations and only seats guests on a first-come, first-served basis. For that reason, we suggest that you arrive shortly before the staff starts seating for dinnertime. The brothers didn’t have any previous experience running a restaurant but went ahead with transforming the market into a 52-seat, upscale eatery with fresh local fish dishes. It was a major change at The Brewster Fish House, which did little takeout business and had no outside dining before the crisis hit. Even the menu changed as the Smiths worked to switch from fine dining served in traditional courses to more casual dining.

Our romantic bed and breakfast is only about a half-mile from The Brewster Fish House, so it’s the ideal accommodation for an afternoon nap or overnight stay. Salmon and fish and chips are two entrees that you will almost always see on the menu for lunch and dinner. Other options include chicken, brisket, shrimp or clam linguini, and halibut. The Brewster Fish House’s executive chef Erik Schnackenberg says another popular sandwich is the cold lobster roll, which had been served as a special but now is a regular on the menu. Our contemporary bistro style menu changes seasonally to reflect the freshest available fare.
Although the dishes on the menu change depending on the season, here are some examples of the items that you could find. Can't go wrong with the meals here - they've got a fantastic, creative chef. But it's a bit pricy, it's crowded even with the new addition, and they don't take reservations, so unless Mom and Dad are watching the kids, we go elsewhere. Smith is grateful for his staff which, he says, adapts to daily changes.
